Month: April 2003

New look

It’s very early in the morning and I probably should be sleeping, but I got bored and launched the new look one day early. I hope you like it.

As always, and like most things in my life, it’s a work in progress. I’m also keeping in mind those who don’t yet have large screens and always have to scroll around to see the whole site. (Psssst… buy a new computer screen, people.) The address is still the same, so keep telling your friends about it.

Also, my counter was all messed up and didn’t work very well. Thanks to the new Tripod-Tracker I found out that this site gets about 2,000 visits a week! And no, not all from my mom. (In fact, I’m pretty sure my mom doesn’t read this site very much at all.)

Thanks to everyone for reading… now I feel I need to write something better each time to make your visits worthwhile.

Changes are coming

It’s the middle of the afternoon and I’m back in Toronto and back to work. It’s been an amazing day so far… high of 72 or more… sunny sky… nice and warm. Watch for a slight makeover coming to the site starting the first of May. It’s spring and I felt like making some changes. I haven’t yet made up my mind on just how much I want to change, but I do know that somethings need to be fixed.

Heading back to Toronto

My Montreal trip is just about done. I was able to do some personal writing and even get away to the States and do some cross border shopping.

Since moving to Toronto, I haven’t really had a chance to visit the old border town we used to go to, Plattsburgh, New York.  In fact, other than when I go home to visit my family, I don’t do much state-side shopping, even though we have Buffalo right across the lake.

I know people bitch and complain to me about spending my money in the US when I should be spending it in Canada, so know this; I spent a LOT of money in Canada. But being an American living in Canada, there are few products we don’t get up here that I miss.

Traveling again

From the looks of things I will be heading to Montreal for the week, and maybe I can get started on my book as well as do some other things. Have a Happy Passover and Happy Easter.

Still alive

A week without an update? Is there something wrong with me? Probably. But aside from that, I’ve been staying away from people as much as possible, washing my hands like a crazy woman and doing as much writing as a I can. Sadly though, that means my on-line presence has been greatly reduced.

But as you can see, I’m still here. Sort of.

The juices are loose

Wow… the creative juices are flowing like Kool-Aid around my house today. As you may have noticed, I didn’t get around to writing any more yesterday, but today I did fire out a few more chapters in the book I’ve been working on. Not sure what will come of it or when it will be done, because like I said, I’m just writing what comes to mind.

This SARS things is far more serious than anyone first thought, which only adds to the fear going around the city. It’s clear now that it came via a person or people who came to this country from overseas and attacks those with weaken immune systems. But don’t let that give you false hope; be mindful when you’re out there and it might be a good idea to invest in some of that hand sanitizer.

April Fools

Hey mom, guess what? I’m moving back to New Jersey!

Ha… April Fool’s Day!  Anyway, speaking of New Jersey, I was writing more of my book last night. I am also feeling better after having my ass kicked by this cold I have been trying to shake.

However, now Toronto seems to be in the grip of this virus called S.A.R.S. that makes people really sick and has even killed a few folks, which scares everyone. It’s way more than just a bad cold.  I wish this was an April Fool’s joke.

This of course means less going out, which considering the way I’ve been feeling as of late, shouldn’t be much a change for me.
